Anesthesia is known to cause nausea that can lead to excessive drooling/vomiting/diarrhea, you can elect for your pet to be given an anti-nausea injections prior to anesthesia to lower the chance of this happening.(Required)
The following tests have been recommended to me: A Complete Blood Count (CBC) measures white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. These are important to diagnose infection, anemia and blood clotting abilities.(Required)
Dogs only: Heartworms are internal parasites that live in the blood vessels of the heart and lugs. I understand that if my pet has unknown heartworm disease, serious complications could arise during anesthesia. I am aware that a test is available to determine if Heartworms are present
Cats only: Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus are two viruses that are present in the cat population and an apparently healthy cat can be infected with one or both. If undetected, these viruses can cause unforeseen and substantial complications. A screening test can be performed before anesthesia and is recommended.
